Who we are

Mama Grows Funk is a Northern California collective delivering high-energy funk and soul with a community-centered spirit. Since forming in 2017, the band has brought together tight grooves, soaring vocals, and infectious rhythms inspired by Stevie Wonder, The Meters, Anderson .Paak, and The Bamboos. Their interwoven rhythms spark a joyful connection between musicians and dancers, making every performance a celebration. With appearances at the Mendocino Music Festival and the Summer Arts and Music Festival in Southern Humboldt, Mama Grows Funk is on a mission to uplift communities, light up weddings, and groove into bigger festivals while exploring original music.
